Engineered Hardwood Flooring

Engineered hardwood flooring has the same charm and beauty as the solid hardwood types but it doesn’t cost as much. Additionally, engineered hardwood flooring is much more dimensionally stable because of its numerous layers. This type of kitchen flooring can be refinished once or twice before they need to be replaced.

One of the main reasons why homeowners prefer engineered hardwood flooring inside their kitchens is the fact that it also very easy to install. It can be installed on, above and below grade. It can be nailed down like solid hardwood kitchen flooring but they could also be affixed with adhesives even on concrete. Some engineered hardwood floors can even be installed via the floating method. In the floating method, the planks are glued together and the entire flooring floats over the subfloor.

Prior to installing engineered hardwood flooring, the planks need to be acclimated to the environment of the area overnight. Though it is not really necessary but it is encouraged. Once installation is to begin, you need to choose a starter wall, preferably an exterior wall, to ensure that the kitchen flooring will be as straight as possible.

Consider engineered hardwood flooring the next time you want to replace your current kitchen flooring. You will not regret the choice.
